J. Thomas Savage

Artists Biography

J. Thomas Savage is Director of Museum Affairs for Winterthur Museum and Country Estates, the former Delaware home of Henry Francis du Pont. He holds a B.A. in Art History from The College of William and Mary and an M.A. in History Museum Studies from the State University of New York. In addition to American internships, Mr. Savage has studied in England at the Attingham Summer School on the British Country House, The Victorian Society Summer School and the Cambridge Choral Studies Seminar. He was formerly Senior Vice President and Director of Sotheby’s Institute of Art for North and South America. From 1981 to 1995, Mr. Savage served as Curator and Director of Historic Charleston Foundation.
